New anime models for new anime works

Sun Oct 18, 2009, 7:16 PM
The anime 3d models that i always use will receive an update.
They are, at first, 3D GAME models, not made for animation renders, but they also work for that purpose nowadays, since computers are now strong enough to withstand 6000-7000 poly models in my cheap game engine.
With this, i'm re-making the base male and female models of my animations, and i also plan to create diferent styles for universal characters (actors that need little editing to became somebody else) ranging from realistic looking old people to middle-aged ones.
My style is very simplistic, but time-consuming nevertheless, and i have only spare time to work with.
Also, i'm plannning on making small comic shorts with other characters for exposure purposes only around the brazilian animation community, who have a strong say when selecting works for goverment funding around here.
My main goal is still the development of solo game-making techniques using a wide range of tools at my disposal - i'm almost concluding the scenario/character range step.
Time is of essence, and doing ANYTHING else is precious time throwed away in the garbage can.... i really hate to stop for eat and sleep :(

The revamp of my game creation techniques is taking several remodelling steps, including new characters, new scenario procedures, and of course the new engine, 3D Studio Commercial.
WIll have to wait another week, however, just got an animation request for a 20 second intro with cars and a building (modelled from the real deal) for a car wheel shop site. Everytime i start getting results on my game, jobs start popping out of nowhere? :O
Any income for the project an my portfolio is welcome, i always say :)

August's Jornal - 2009

Long story short: My last "Paid Challenge" wasn't exacly been PAID for three months and i ended it up in bad terms with the "boss". My lawyer said there won't be a problem receving it legally, let's see about that.
Back in game development, i'm back with 3d gamestudio and trying to separate scenarios in only one block of model with 2048x2048 textures, even with ALL engine aspects needing some serious updates: i have to re-make the characters, the combat system, redo those awfull icons and intros and all i care about right now is some stupid cave scenario for the first part of the game, coincidently made to cover-up all game and modelling mechanics involved in the title.
The workload is so depressingly high that i feel i should begin making MODS for already published games, like X3: Terran Conflict or some other proprietary high end engine... but i don't have the courage to throw away all the work piled up so far, even it being as simple as they are, so it's modelling time for me now, again.
I need to stablish a new modelling procedure for the new models, without a routine anything i model take ages.

A new challenge arrives! A paid one! ... what?!?

I aways assemble a large library of my models and 3d actors for a variety of projects, because i might end up neeing fast results, and a neat library can come in handy in times of need. I'm just being paranoid, but my paranoia just paid off recently, in a VERY unexpected way.
Fact is, besides Villikon, i was also attending several meetings with people around here planning on doing movies, events, comics, you name it. Needless to say, not a SINGLE project lift off, and for two times i wasted precious time and resources doing presentations and storyboards for this bunch. When once again i decided to do things my way and alone, one of the contacts called me for a "job" in a online TV, same involved in one of my biggest time wasting weeks. I tought to myself: "I'll just state what i am, what i do and what i CHARGE, and they'll sent me away", but for my surprise this one was PAYING for stuff, but he's was also a very demanding client (who asked for promotional prices and late payings anyway), making me work overnight during the whole christmas and new year's eve on HIS failed projects.
But he did buried everthing he had in his account on that place, and i was willing to prove that my presence MAKES the difference, so i swallowed my pride and decided to make stuff that i wouldn't do even for myself.
Needless to say, every single one of my late 'contacts' have something negative to say about me being involved 24/7 with only one bad pay, but compared to the NO pays, it wasn't that bad.
I got again my old fast solving production pace and learned a lot about video editing and webpage custom creation (amazing how ignorant i was on those fields). I had to learn by myself, of course.
Both the money and the experience will prove invaluable for my next projects, but those i'm still not sure what they will be... but something i know: I'll be in charge of it. Not to be megalomaniac, but as the old saying goes... if you want it done right, do it yourself!
